Instead of Table Numbers

Assigning tables to guests at wedding receptions not only provides an opportunity for guests to meet and chat with one another, but it also allows event center managers a method of organization during dinner.
Most often event centers have their own method of numbering guest tables; however, one recent wedding reception captured the bride and groom's guests and event staff's attention a little longer. Placed on each table in the ballroom was a candid picture of the bride and groom each holding a large size piece of paper with a number on it. These personalized and fun wedding reception table placements delighted every guest who had to find their table.
Each table placement picture was in a simple 5 x 7 frame with the numbers clearly displayed in the picture. This was one of the most unique wedding reception table placements we have seen at the Diamond Event Center in Brunswick, Ohio. Another recent Fall Themed Wedding Reception had tree names on the tables instead of numbers. Yet another couple chose to name their tables after Video Game Characters....so as you can see the possibilities are endless! How will you assign and direct your guests to their tables at your wedding reception? We'd' like to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Unique Wedding Favors Don't Have to Be on the Table

Often times brides want unique wedding favors on their guests' tables at the reception, but don't quite know what to give. The Diamond Event Center has seen several unique wedding favors selected by the bride and groom, which aren't seen on their guests' tables.
Unique wedding favors that are also eco friendly are a charitable donation of the bride and groom's choice such as a private foundation for a family member, the American Cancer Society, a high school or college scholarship fund or other memorial foundation. Instead of colorful candy or bottled bubbles, the bride and groom place a card sized note at each guest's place setting which may read something such as:
"In lieu of wedding favors, Brandy and Joe have a made a donation to the Cancer Society of Medina County in your honor. We both have lost a family member or friend to Cancer and we want to remember our loved ones with a donation. We thank you for attending, Brandy and Joe."
This note often starts many conversations at the guest table as well, and sometimes even prompts guests to make an additional contribution to the charity or memorial fund.

This new idea is more than a "Spoonful of Kisses from the new Mr. & Mrs."!

It is different, fun, interactive and a WOW your guests will remember.

A Candy Bar is a colorful display of different types of candy along with bags or boxes for guests to fill with their favorites to take home. A variety of large glass vases and containers make perfect display pieces for the candy. Personalized bags (that you could make yourself) or "to go" boxes (that you could order online) are perfect for your guests to package the candy in. Don’t forget little scoops or tongs to use to fill the bags. If you position the candy bar near the exit you won’t have forgotten bags on the guest tables at the end of the night and your guests will leave your reception with sweet memories!

Off Premise Event June 6, 2009

The following photos are from an event we catered this past weekend. We provided the tent, tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, set up, appetizers, dinner, bar and staff. It was a beautiful day! The pavillion that is on the property was used for the food, bar, appetizers, cake, gifts and dance floor. The tent covered all of the guest tables and head table with the fountain at the entrance.

New Fireplace

The staff at Diamond Event Center is always striving to be warm and welcoming to all of our guests. Now the beautiful new foyer should make guests feel that way as soon as they walk thru the front doors. The addition of the antique oak mantle and beautiful marble will also make a wonderful location for bridal and group pictures of all kinds. Plans are also in the works for a special piece of glass art work commissioned to a local glass artist, Tom Schemrich. The hope is that the art work should be installed sometime later in 2009. Not only is the foyer traditionally beautiful, it will also be high tech, including a plasma television to entertain and keep guests informed of the latest in event style and execution.
